Collection Management Standards-Part 1

http://ala.org/alcts

ALCTS network broadcast.

The webinar is the first part of a two-part series designed to familiarize participants with the practical application of collection management standards and best practices in an increasingly electronic world: usage statistics (COUNTER / SUSHI); licensing (SERU); and publisher / platform changes (transfer).

Standards and best practices jointly developed by librarians, system providers, publishers and other community members help lubricate the wheels to ensure better interoperability between systems and automate certain tedious tasks. The presenter will introduce specific standards and describe how they work and their role in helping libraries manage local and shared collections.
